Durably visible clothing

For people who work in traffic and other outdoor locations in diminished light, high-visibility clothing is a must. But serious grease and grime (common in railway work, for instance) can impair visibility, putting workers at risk of serious accidents.

Gore HiLite Technology keeps gear highly visible – EN 20471 norm-compliant: lightly soiled garments can be wiped down on the job; heavily grimed clothing can be easily restored to its original state by recommended washing processes.

Gore developed a special polymer to seal the fabrics’ yarns in an outer textile keeping its open structure. This process prevents dirt particles and water from becoming entangled with the fibres of the fabric, while still allowing the garment to breathe.

Many professionals from military personnel, to oil and gas workers, face the risk of flash fires. GORE® PYRAD® fabric technology is built with a laminate that forms a stable char when exposed to heat and flame and protects the wearer.

GORE® PYRAD® fabrics come in several brilliant and low-fading colours to give the wearer crucial visibility even in diminished light. Fabrics with camouflage patterns keep their colour stability for long and are very durable, due to high tear and abrasion resistance.

Upon heat and flame exposure the laminate forms a stable and non-flammable char to protect the user.

Because of the robust technology and the excellent insulation properties the physical integrity
of the laminate is maintained after heat and flame exposure (no hole formation).

Blocks convective heat flow during arc exposure

GORE® PYRAD® fabric technology blocks convective heat flow during arc exposure and stops flame propagation by forming a carbonaceous char with the textile.
